Internet and electricity are relatively new in the refugee camps and whilst still not 100% reliable we’ve been able to organize lectures to students ranging from Taiwan, Alaska and Indonesia. We’ve assembled a team of Saharawi speakers that are ready to take on speaking engagements and we’re reaching out to universities, solidarity groups, student groups & organizations across the globe to share the story of Western Sahara – told directly by Saharawis themselves.

Our scope is global and we need your help in organizing more lectures

Theory of Change

We organize public lectures for students, associations and organizations around the world to achieve many goals. Very few people are aware of the last colony in Africa, Western Sahara. and in order to be engaged the first step is awareness. We want the students to not only know about Western Sahara but to be inspired to start new student groups working in solidarity with Western Sahara, to write their thesis on the topic and to later join the existing solidarity movement. We have seen the massive energy in the student movement for Palestine and there is a big potential for synergy with existing Palestine student groups to include Western Sahara in their work.

By expanding the movement for Western Sahara we aim to make it big enough to have the capacity to build powerful enough campaigns to pressure governments & corporations to end their illegal occupation & business in occupied Western Sahara and students are a key part of this movement

How you can help the campaign

We’re looking for more people who can help contact university professors and student groups in countries around the world to facilitate and coordinate lectures for Western Sahara. The lectures are done by our Saharawi speakers and you will get a thorough introduction into all the moving parts of the campaign.
